Go ladies!

Are you a woman out there, somewhere around the world; black, white, red? I want to use this opportunity to wish you all a happy international women’s day, it’s not easy to be born she, it’s not easy to remain a she. Everyone on earth is celebrating you so why won’t you do the same for yourself. According to Google art and culture, I quote, “Women are the Symbol of Life. The Maker of Unconditional Love. A woman is both Soft and Powerful. Practical and Spiritual”. Ladies all over the world, hope you’re seeing this with me. Let me take this sentence piece by piece. The first part says that women are the symbol of life – ladies in every part of the world, let’s brag a little. Turn around, ask any man around you this question, “ have you imagined a world without women, no girlfriends, no wives, no mothers, no sisters, no nieces? Well, I know that would be a disaster. The Almighty that made a woman keep a man company was, is, and will still be the greatest architect of all. In a world of just men, how will they even survive? Who will produce or give birth to more of them? Who will breastfeed them? Who will stay up at night to make sure they have a nice night’s rest? Who? Women, today is your day, be proud of who you are. Imagine a pregnant man, some men who will not tell themselves the truth will be like, “ is it not just pregnancy, just nine months, what’s there that’s so hard?” Tell a man next to you that he will never understand. I’ve seen videos of men who couldn’t even bear a similar pain to menstrual cramps for a day not to talk of pregnancy, Rissa and Shaquan fans can bear witness to this. If you’re a woman reading this, do something for me please – stand up, move towards a mirror and tell yourself – I am a symbol of life, it’s not easy to be me and I don’t care whether anyone understands that, I’m still proud to be me.

Moving over to the next statement, “ the maker of unconditional love”. Ahh… this one totori me die.  How do you think a woman knows when her child is crying when they’re not together? This is because of the special bond they share which started the moment she took in. God created a woman to be a helper and what does a helper do – she patches up leakages, she’s an assistant, an aide, a backup, a supporter. I’ve come across a lady with 5 kids, this lady sees hell every single day in her matrimonial home. Her husband womanizes in the house, comes back drunk most times, beats her and her kids up for no just reason. This lady refused to leave her kids without a father, she stood strong, protected, and provided for her children all by herself. Now, she’s a very happy.

The other statement says, “a woman is both soft and powerful”. There are indeed a lot of things women go through, since the world sees us as the lower gender, there are women all over the world who are going through hell but because of one reason or the other, she chooses to stay. There are women out there with violent men as life partners, some go through hard times to make sure that she provides for their family. I can’t forget this song, Rockabye by Clean Bandit ft. Sean Paul, explains the extent a woman can go to provide not just for their kids but also for people they care about. We might look all soft but willing to go to any extent to get what we want. Have you met any woman that has decided because of one thing or the other? Oww, she’s always so determined and focused. Let me give an example, I’m an engineering student and when people ask what my course of study is and I reply with engineering, the person steps back, guess what comes next. Engineering? Really? Why engineering? What happened to other smaller courses? Nursing? Medicine? The question keeps coming.

The last statement says, “Practical and Spiritual”. Being practical means having a good sense of priority. Life can be very confusing and frustrating with priorities, so it’s a great strength to be able to prioritize certain things over others. This problem comes in as a problem in youths, they go with these beliefs that you only get to be a youth once, you need to enjoy your youth, you only get to live once and this mindset has ruined a lot of lives. Yes, your youth is the time you explore, experience, and get to know what you’re capable of but you can’t use this as an excuse to ruin your life. Ladies, you need to see yourself as a generation because through you a lot of people will come into the world. Having priorities is something that cannot be emphasized enough, it’s very important as it is necessary. Over to being spiritual, women as the most spiritual beings exist. We connect to the spiritual realm so much because of the people after us. In a family, the woman or wife is seen as the spiritual intercessor and it’s no joke. The bond the woman shares with her family makes it easier to handle the spiritual aspect of the family. 

Girls, ladies, women… I want to bring to your awareness today that you’re champions, you’re not little, you have a life and it’s all yours. Yeah, I know that the tendency of sacrificing your dreams and all is there but don’t bury them, you deserve to be treated like the queen that you are. If you want to be independent and successful, you can do it, don’t let anyone talk you down. I want to dedicate this song, standing in the light, to all women out there, be strong, and conquer the world.
